Our team

The people restoring liver health

BacTbio is a science-led team applying cutting-edge probiotic engineering and the gut–liver axis to the earliest, most recoverable stage of fatty liver disease.

Salpie Nowinski
Salpie Nowinski, PhD
Chief Executive Officer

Salpie leads BacTbio's vision and strategy, holding a PhD in Computational Biology from King's College London and 12 years of research experience in computational analysis and the modelling of complex biological systems. Salpie's focus is translating cutting-edge microbiome and gut–liver-axis science into products that reach people at the stage where they can benefit most.

Max Mossner
Max Mossner, PhD
Chief Technology Officer

Max heads the science and engineering behind BacTbio's next-generation probiotic platform. He holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from Heidelberg University and brings 19 years of research experience in molecular genetics, engineering and lead-molecule technology development — designing living therapeutics built to work with the body's own biology rather than override it.

Gabriel Nowinski
Gabriel Nowinski, MD
Chief Medical Officer

Gabriel guides BacTbio's clinical and medical strategy. A medical doctor (MB ChB, University of Manchester) with 10 years of clinical experience, he has recruited and monitored patients on a Phase III trial and led the implementation of a novel diagnostic tool in major hospitals — keeping the science grounded in real patient need and rigorous, peer-reviewed evidence.

Why we exist

Catch it early. Restore it.

Most people with fatty liver don't know they have it — and the early stage, when the liver is most able to recover, passes silently. We're building the science, and the tools, to change that.

Our mission

Pioneering next-generation probiotics for human and planetary health
